  • Overview

    To perform functions in support of the management and operations of an inventory/parts room operation in support of NAVFAC at Crane, In.  Duties include: product sourcing, vendor/product research, purchasing, issuing parts, receiving parts, generating billing documents,  processing vendor invoices and assiting with inventory control.

    Responsibilities

    Provide quality customer service to include but not limited to the following:

    • Attention to detail
    • Meet and greet customers.
    • Review supplied requisition forms to ensure they are properly completed (Signatures, timestamps, part numbers, descriptions and quantities)
    • Answer questions regarding availability of parts.      
    • Ask appropriate questions to ensure correct parts are researched and provided
    • Inform customers when requested parts are available.
    • Issue parts to customers
    • Generate and submit Purchase Orders for required products
    • Perform Vendor followup on back ordered items

     

    Parts Pickup

    • Drive vehicle to designated vendors’ locations to purchase/pick-up parts
    • Provide company documentation to vendors as required (tax exempt form, credit references)
    • Review all invoices at vendor location to ensure accuracy on pricing and quantities
    • Return products to MANCON location in a timely fashion.

     

    Data Entry Requirements

    • Generating invoices for customer requisitions in the inventory system.
    • Generating Purchase Orders in the inventory system to purchase required parts
    • Entry of vendor receiving documents in the inventory system
    • Creation of new item numbers for new products being provided
    • Updating pricing information

     

    Inventory Management Requirements

    • Assist in performing weekly inventory cycle counts.
    • Assist in performing counts during Wall to Wall inventories at site

     

    Other Requirements

    • Follow established guidelines for vehicle and equipment maintenance  .
    • Provide 24 hour support at the NAVFAC location during emergencies.
    • Travel to vendor locations to pickup parts.
    • Assist with inventory research projects as requested.
    • Adhere to required procedures
    • Assist with Store Manager duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    • 1 year computer experience
    • Valid Driver’s License with two years driving experience
    • 24-hour availability

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Attention to detail and adhere to required procedures
    • 1 year Electrical, Plumbing or HVAC parts experience
    • 1 year Inventory experience
    • 1 year Customer Service Role
    • Experience in inventory/point of sale applications such as CounterPoint

    Physical Requirements

    Medium work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
