Overview

The Logistics Analyst will be responsible for analysis of inventory and warehouse processes and detailed transactions.  Also, will be communicating with customers and local staff to ensure inventory items are stored and issued properly.  Will make adjustment to inventory records, research frustrated material and provide analysis to the Project Manager and Inventory Manager.  Review logistics reports from a warehouse management system and determine course of action for update or correction.  Produce daily, weekly, monthly, annual reports and perform computer analysis and assist with computer system applications as requested.   Position will also entail assisting with processing and filing of inventory control paperwork for all processes at the location.

Responsibilities

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Receiving workload communications verbally and from documentation
  • Providing status on orders
  • Answering telephones
  • Writing customer correspondence
  • Responding to email inquiries
  • Creating and maintaining soft and/or hard copy files
  • Photocopying documents
  • Performing and documenting research for inventory and receipts
  • Performing and documenting research for inventory
  • Reviewing and approving inventory adjustments 
  • Reviewing and determining inventory balances
  • Performing data entry for part number creations and history
  • Additional tasks/assignments may occur

Qualifications

  • Experience with general office procedures
  • Experience with desktop computers
  • Experience with customer service
  • Experience working as a part of a team and collaborating with colleagues

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with MBTA's FMIS System

Physical Requirements

Sedentary work -Occasionally exerting up to 10 pounds of force by lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling or otherwise moving objects. Work involves sitting most of the time; walking and standing are required only occasionally.
